The project is a complete overhaul of an Edwardian terraced family house, which had previously had much of the interior period character removed, as well as original walls at the ground floor.
A single-storey wraparound extension to the rear and side return adds space to create a modern open plan family kitchen with play/living area to the garden end. Daylight is brought into the deeper space through a bespoke rooflight with automated opening sections running the length of the infill area. This connects back to an interior dining space and as a whole is intended to be both suitable for the young family who own the house and for 'grown-up' entertaining. This additional space allows for the reinstatement of the walls and hallway following the historical layout, to bring back the original sitting room at the front of the house.
